Hey, thank for your hard work, my problem at mangahelper really gone. But I have another problem (just the little one). When the download finished the soft said “Completed with error(s)” so I re-download that manga. But it completed with progress was 0%. So I re-download it the second time, same thing happen. I can’t remember how many time I try but the “error(s)” won’t go. Would you have any idea what I should do with that. I neither want to download the entire volume again nor download it manual in the website.

What chapters, manga name, which site?
Please try to click on “Show errors(s)”, what do you see?

Yeah, MangaHelpers change image url after a period, that’s why those links are not working anymore.

I’ve got a feature request:
Can you make it so that when you minimize the program while it’s downloading, you can see the progress, or the percentage of the download on the taskbar, much like jdownloader or utorrent?

Manga Toshokan
Filter: State = Completed (Doesn’t Work)
How to Test:
Press Filter Button
Set State to Completed
= Nothing Shows Up
If I Browse Manually I can see that a lot of manga’s have complete state so the filter must be broken
Note: On other sites the state for completed is “completed” while on manga toshokan it is just “complete” dunno if this is related but what the hell

I have a suggestion.
Instead of a progress bar you could add a sound notification for download completion
I mean when the download completes the program would play a sound
What do you think?

I have a suggestion for a next version feature.
Is it possible to make Manga downloader download only new manga chapters when you double click a manga title?
What I mean is for example I have downloaded 10 chapters of a manga and one week later chapter 11 was added. After this option is ticked Manga downloader would download only chapter 11 automatically

I like the option of highlighting new manga series. I have a suggestion to extend this feature. It could be used so that ongoing manga series that have had chapters added to them could also be highlighted in bold. It could be much easier to find mangas with new chapters that way

If i want to update from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 the program say’s: Cant connect to Remotehost. Thats new – before the update went to all the versions with no problems…

I’ve got a problem with my list. I open my Domdomsoft and then go to “Animea” but there aren’t titles of mangas. It’s empty…
In MangaHut, Mangafox and the others the mangas are listed… Only in Animea aren’t any titles… or something like that

You can extract just the relevant datafile from the .zip file that contains the entire Manga Downloader program, that way if you’ve updated the lists for any other sites you don’t end up overwriting them and having to go through the process of updating them all over again. Make sure that you place the datafile in the ‘Data’ subdirectory overwriting the corrupt one.

I have to admit I do like this software. However I’m left wondering why it’s so EXTREMELY slow responding when doing something as trivial as minimizing and maximizing the window (even when there are absolutely NO downloads in progress), it takes a few seconds for the interface to become useable again when maximizing the window after having it minimized. Additionally scrolling through the list of mangas by dragging the scrollbar is so slow to respond as to be virtually useless in most cases (more often than not it overshoots the section I was trying to get to because it’s slow to detect that I stopped dragging it). I have tried this program on a couple different computers all using Windows XP Professional 32 bit with Service Pack 3, and the performance has been equally poor regardless of which computer I try to run it from. All of the systems I have run it from have at least 2 gigabytes of memory installed and have at least a 2.2Ghz Pentium 4 processor (one even had a 2.8Ghz with Hyperthreading and 3 gigabytes of memory, and still it performed poorly), for as simple as this program appears to be I’m very disappointed to note that my installation of Firefox with nearly 50 Addons runs much faster than this program even when I’m running as many as 8 open tabs at the same time in Firefox. In my opinion the next release should seriously focus on improving the performance in regards to the user experience.

I don’t buy it, I’ve seen huge databases full of many times more data than the manga lists contain that were nowhere near as slow to respond as this software is, I think it’s more likely that you are loading each and every bit of data all at once instead of loading it as it’s needed, for instance if you parsed the listing and only load the names of the various manga found on each server as each server is selected, and even then only load the download data (addresses and whatnot) only when a user chooses to download the manga it would very likely improve performance a great deal as opposed to loading all of that data into memory at one time. Another option would be to utilize a standard database format which software like Borland Delphi and Visual Studio (even the FREE Express Edition) support ‘out of the box’ this would give you the oppurtunity to ‘offload’ some of the data processing to an outside .dll possibly, again likely providing a significant improvement in performance. As I’ve said the size of the databases for the manga lists doesn’t explain how supremely slow this software is when I’ve seen much better performance from software that access databases which are many times larger than the ones which contain the data for the manga lists. Maybe you need to rethink the way you are either storing the data or possibly rethink the way you are loading/accessing it.

I do not all the data at once. I only load manga list for selected site.
But you are right, the program has not been optimized much. I will think about it, thanks for your suggestions.
hei, in 2.2.2, when downloading using the option multipages ( i set it to 2 pages at the same time), the progress percentage is gone, only shows the –. how come?

hmmm strange, sometimes i can see the percentage, sometimes i don’t. of couse not when it’s loading the data.but when downloading (e.g. downloading 07.jpg, 08.jpg,…)
